Cucumber Tea Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
4 ounces of room temperature cream cheese
¼ cup of mayonnaise
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of dried or fresh minced dill
1 teaspoon of fresh minced chives
½ teaspoon of ground black pepper
Pinch of salt
10-12 slices of white or wheat bread, crusts removed
1 English cucumber, sliced
Instructions
-
Peel the cucumber and slice thinly. Lay the slices on paper towels and lightly salt. Allow to sit for 15-30 minutes to remove moisture. Dry with clean paper towels.
-
Blend the cream cheese in a medium-sized bowl until it becomes smooth, then incorporate the mayo and stir once more until smooth.
-
Add the garlic powder, dill, chives, pepper and salt and stir together. Adjust the salt to taste.
-
Apply the cream cheese spread evenly on two slices of bread. Next, arrange 6-9 slices of cucumber on the bottom half. Finally, place the top slice of bread.
-
Continue the process with the remaining bread, cucumbers and cream cheese spread.
-
Using a sharp knife, cut each sandwich into quarters.
-
Serve right away and enjoy!
